Everyone knows how much I love Cajun Redhead Seasoning. Early last week I placed an order for more since I can’t buy it locally. The guy wrote me and said they were out but should have more ready to ship by Thursday (this past Thursday).
Yesterday I had just sat down in the living room and my phone rang. It was in the kitchen so I hobbled in there to get it but they hung up before I was able to answer it.
I saw who had called and called them right back, figuring it was someone calling about my order. Not just “someone” but the Cajun Redhead guy himself!
I felt special – really special! He explained that they were having a hard time getting the cans the spices are packaged in but he was hoping to have more next week. He asked if I wanted a refund or if I wanted to wait. Of course, I wanted to wait – whatever it takes! I explained to him that I have plenty but my stock was getting low so I was making sure I don’t run out.
He was super nice and like so many people from Lake Charles, so easy to talk with. It reminded me of the time I started chatting with the couple in line at a restaurant and they ended up sitting with us at our table for dinner. On the way home, Vince said “How weird was it to run into someone you knew?” because we were over an hour from Lake Charles. I said “I didn’t know them!” He couldn’t believe we were all talking like old friends.
When I hung up from talking to the Cajun Redhead guy (Russell), I told Vince “that was the Cajun Redhead guy”. Vince said “I didn’t know you knew him!” I said “I don’t!” Vince looked puzzled and said “Y’all just talked like you knew each other forever!” Nope. Never met him, never talked to him before.
I wondered if that made Vince think about the people in the restaurant but I didn’t ask.
